In Surf Life Saving we determine everyone’s age by the age they are on the 30^th September of the starting year, for this season its 2026. For safety, to participate each week, nippers must wear the prescribed nipper cap and vest, available for purchase from the uniform shop.

**All Nippers need to have turned 5 prior to 1 October 2026 to join **

• U6 – 5 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2020 to 30th September 2021)
  • U6 Must wear a BLUE Nipper Cap and a PINK LONG SLEEVE rash vest
• U7 – 6 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2019 to 30th September 2020)
  • U7 Must wear a RED Nipper Cap and a PINK LONG SLEEVE rash vest
• U8 - 7 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2018 to 30th September 2019)
  • U8 Must wear a AQUA Nipper Cap and a PINK LONG SLEEVE rash vest
• U9 - 8 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2017 to 30th September 2018)
  • U9 Must wear a PINK Nipper Cap and a PINK rash vest
• U10 - 9 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2016 to 30th September 2017)
  • U10 Must wear a YELLOW Nipper Cap and a PINK rash vest
• U11 - 10 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2015 to 30th September 2016)
  • U11 Must wear a GREEN Nipper Cap and a PINK rash vest
• U12 - 11 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2014 to 30th September 2015)
  • U12 Must wear a BLUE Nipper Cap and a PINK rash vest
• U13 - 12 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2013 to 30th September 2014)
  • U13 Must wear a RED Nipper Cap and a PINK rash vest
• U14 - 13 years old on 30^th September 2026 (Birth date will be 1st October 2012 to 30th September 2013)
  • U14 Must wear a WHITE Nipper Cap and a PINK rash vest
• U15 – 14 years old on 30^th September 2026
• U17 – 15, 16 years old on 30^th September 2026
• U19 – 17, 18 years old on 30^th September 2026
• Open – 19 years old on 30^th September 2026
• Masters – 30 years old on 30^th September 2026

We accept Active Kids vouchers for school aged children to the value of $50.

Active Kids Vouchers are required to be manually processed this year due to a change on the Service NSW platform.  If using any vouchers, you will need to deduct from your total payable and make a manual payment direct to the Club's bank account (e.g. Family of 3 - $310.00 less 1 Active Kids voucher $50 = balance of $260.00 payable).

As a new member you have two options, register online or attend one of two registration days at our club. We encourage all new members to sign up online and attend our Registration Days to meet our recruitment team who will welcome and introduce you to Shelly Beach SLSC. When you attend the Registration Day you will also be able to try on and get decked out in our fantastic club apparel. You can also view and purchase our apparel through the online shop.

It is our Club policy that every child in the U6s - U14s must have a parent join with them.

Registration days

• Saturday 5 September 2026 – 10.00am to 12.00pm
• Sunday 13 September 2026 - 10.00am – 12.00pm

Uniform

• Our Uniform Shop will operate on our advertised Registration Days – Saturday 5/9/26 10.00am to 12.00pm and Sunday 13/9/25 – 10.00am to 12.00pm.

  • Uniform Shop will be open on Nipper Rego Days for on the spot purchases only - NO SHOPIFY/ONLINE PICKUPS AVAILABLE ON THESE DAYS
  • Orders placed on Shopify will be available to pick up on Sunday mornings once the Patrol Season begins on 26/09/2026. There will also be some extra collection dates added in the school holidays. 

NEW FAMILY

1. Log onto Lifesaving Online https://sls.com.au/join/
2. Join a Club – this will take you to a page to “Create a SLS Hub Account” to join a Club or manage membership.
3. Create a user name – Enter name, email and create a password – Sign Up
4. Verify code sent to your email
5. If you are new to Surf Life Saving, select “I am brand new member” option. If you are a previous member, select current or past member to confirm details or create a transfer.
6. Select Club from drop down option and select either “individual” or “parent joining family.”
7. If signing up a family, give your Family a name eg. Brown family
8. Enter family members – ensure to add Parent details first as they will be the Primary member – then Add other family members via Icon - Next
9. Add contact details and Emergency contacts, including Relationship - Next
10. Complete Declaration and Guardian Declaration – Next
11. Select Merchandise (nippers only) – Rashie & cap mandatory for U6-U8
12. Proceed to payment page and pay by credit card.
13. You will receive a notification of submission – application now sent to Club for processing

NEW INDIVIDUAL MEMBER

1. Log onto Lifesaving Online https://sls.com.au/join/
2. Follow Points 2-6 above
3. Select Individual (Brand new member)
4. Select Club – Shelly Beach – from drop down option – select Individual - Next
5. Add personal details – next
6. Enter contact details and emergency contact details – next
7. Tick Declaration – Next
8. Click on drop down menu and choose Joining fee
9. Skip past Add Ons if a parent – choose Merchandise/Add-On if a nipper
10. Review Order Summary and make payment via credit card
11. You will be notified of your submission
12. Application will be sent to Club for approval

EXISTING MEMBERS/NEW MEMBERS LAST YEAR (with no Members Portal Account)

If you were a new member last year the process is:

1. Log onto Lifesaving Online https://sls.com.au/join/
2. Follow steps 1-5 above (from New Family)
3. Select Current or past member
4. The system will recognise your details (name and date of birth) and provide you with a link to the Members Portal – click link
5. Select preferred method to receive verification code.
6. Enter verification code.
7. This will take you back to Sign in page. Account should now be linked to your information.
8. Sign in to you new account.
9. This should now show all your account details.
10. Renew
11. Select season, Tick declaration
12. Select renewal fee and any add on fees
13. Review order summary and make payment via credit card

EXISTING MEMBERS (with Members Portal Account)

If you renewed online last year the process is very simple:

1. Log onto your Members Portal Account – if you have forgotten your password, follow the prompts to re-set
2. Renew
3. Submit
4. Select renewal fee
5. Add on Fees – Next
6. Tick Declaration - Next
7. Payment Page – Make a Payment
8. Payment can be made by credit card. If any adjustments/deductions are required to be taken off the total, select EFT option. See further details below.

NOTE – Members who have previously been notified of a 100% patrol discount will need to select the 100% renewal option when renewing. No payment required if processing an individual renewal. If you are renewing a family, you can deduct the single membership fee of $115 from the family total.

Additionally, returning patrolling members, including Rookies, are also entitled to a 50% discount this year. The cost for a returning patrolling member this season is $ 60.00. If part of a family, $60 can be deducted from the family total via “Other Payment Method or EFT”.

• Returning Active patrolling members - $ 60 (Membership to be renewed by 31 August please)

Any members (nippers) who have not turned 15 prior to 1^st October 2026 are required to have a parent/guardian join as well.

A pink rashie and Nipper cap are mandatory for all Nippers age groups. These are essential for helping our Age Managers and Water Safety volunteers spot your child on the beach and in the water. The caps are the same every year and cost $10. Write your child's name in permanent marker on both sides.

U6, U7 and U8 are required to wear the LONG SLEEVE pink rashie this season, with a national focus on sun safety. The long sleeve rashie is $20 and can be purchased through the Uniform Shop.

• When you renew your registration online, there will be an ADD ON option to purchase the cap and rashie as a bundle OR you can come down to registration day and buy uniform.

All other age groups are strongly encouraged to wear the long sleeve rashie too, but at minimum must wear the pink singlet rashie, over your own long sleeve rashie is preferred (sun safety).
