Lifesaving
Shelly Beach SLSC has been serving the community since 1955 with volunteer patrols between October and April each season. Our patrol teams are comprised of dedicated members who have a variety of qualifications such as aquatic rescue, first aid, spinal management and CPR.

Radio Operators
This vital role is a specifically trained communication officer who maintains communication and support between all stakeholders in an emergency situation and routine patrol activities
Rookies
These are our junior members of the patrol who are currently lifesavers in training.
Bronze Holders
This role is the back bone of our patrol teams with all members highly trained in aquatic rescue. Holders of this award can rescue patients utilising an array of specialised rescue equipment.
IRB Crew and Drivers
Another integral role of patrol which provides a swift rescue to stricken swimmers along our coastline.
First Aiders
Holders of this award are vital to the patrol team and community, rendering trained assistance on the beach and surrounding areas.
Patrol Captains
This role coordinates and manages the patrol team. These members have specialist training to manage emergency incidents.
